Arabian dishes, teas and shisha are of expected excellence at Al Qalaa where you can experience wonderful local dishes in a fort. Bella Vista offers poolside dining and Al Maisan has the Italian romance combined with the zest of Asian flavours. There is also a delightful courtyard deli and an atmospheric lounge perfect for cocktails and shisha. There are tailor-made private dining experiences available for guests who wish to make their dining experience extra special. - Spa:
The theme of the Spa at Al Jabal Al Akhdar is mountaintop serenity. As you slip into a haven of Omani architecture, mountain stone and serene canyon views, a trickling fountain and ‘bakhour’ incense sets the mood for tranquillity. The spa journeys on offer draw on healing powers of locally produced rose water and pomegranate, we personally recommend the hammam ritual which will cleanse and rejuvenate. - Signature Activities:
Dine at Canyons Edge: Dine in the most stunning of settings reserved for you alone – a canyon-edge platform where Princess Diana took in panoramic views in 1986. Choosing from connoisseur menus prepared by a personal chef, your meal is served by your butler. Toast romance as the sun sets over the canyon and constellations shine overhead.
Legend of the rose: Witness the cascading beauty of Damask roses. Time your visit to Al Jabal Al Akhdar to experience an exquisite seasonal wonder. From March to mid-May, Damask roses bloom on the surrounding mountain slopes. Guests are invited to meet the families who continue to make rose water in traditional distilleries. See first-hand the way that smoked rose water is extracted. Enjoy insights that have been passed down through the generations, as your Mountain Guru translates the stories of a village elder.
Signature hikes: Uncover the history and nature of local wadis with three intriguing routes. Meet mountain wildlife, swim and picnic at a beautiful waterfall then explore spectacular rock formations. Delve into the heritage of an abandoned cave village, hike down a fossil staircase before you admire jaw-dropping panoramas, whichever trail you choose.
Spice spoons cooking class: Allowing you to peek behind the scenes of local gastronomy, or discover Anantara’s flavourful roots in Thailand. The experience begins with a private tour of the chef’s garden, sourcing fresh spices for your chosen recipes. Don an apron for a step-by-step cooking class – picking up secret tips from their expert chef before you savour your labours of love for lunch.
