Batu Belig Beach: If you’re looking for an alternative beach to visit, Batu Belig Beach is an excellent choice. With fewer crowds, the Batu Belig Beach feels more serene than its neighboring beach of Petitenget. The waters are excellent if you want to go for a swim, or just get your feet wet. Surfing is also another option, though conditions will vary depending on the tide.
-
Bali Beach Clubs: Beach clubs are a synonymous aspect of Bali, and Umalas has a few notable names for you to jump in and visit. Located right on the edge of Batu Belig Beach, is Tropicola Beach Club. It’s vibrant yellow tents, and contrasting blue daybeds and tropical pool are hard to miss when you arrive at Batu Belig. Sip your favorite drinks and soak in the sun with your group as you wait for the sun to set. If you prefer a quieter scene, another excellent option is Mozaic Beach Club, which is just a few minutes’ walk away from Tropicola. This is perfect for romantic dinners with your partner as you gaze at the sunset on the horizon.

Sandwiched between popular Seminyak and hip and happening Canggu, Umalas has been long favoured by Bali travellers ‘in the know’. The laidback area is still streaked by green rice fields and offers a relaxing change of pace from busy Seminyak and is mostly filled with spectacular villas. As it gets slowly more well known, locals are opening restaurants and cafes and more things to do in this relaxed neighbourhood. - Getting there:
The Santai is 30 minutes away from Ngurah Rai International Airport. If you would like an airport pickup, the resort can provide it on a complimentary basis, just contact the reservation staff prior to arrival. - What to pack:
Summer clothes, hats, sunglasses, beach bags, swimsuits / beach cover-ups, sandals, evening dress and sundresses. - Restaurants:
Open throughout the day, the Dining at The Santai Umalas centres on Gong restaurant which serves mouthwatering local and global dishes with a daily choice of specials, all using locally sourced ingredients. There is also a welcoming balcony bar for aperitifs and nightcaps. - Spa:
The peaceful ambiance within the resort walls will help you relax and focus in choosing your preferred treatment among the comprehensive selection available in the privacy of your villa. Guests can also take part in massage class or talk further with their therapists about each different type of massage, oil and techniques. Complete wellness packages are available at The Amala, their sister property where the resort often has on site professionals who carefully assess guests’ health, fitness and lifestyle to provide individualised wellness programs and treatments.

Bali is located in the tropics and enjoys a balmy year-round climate. Temperatures average a very pleasant 80°F (27°C) in the Ubud area and a little lower at around 71°F (22°C) in the central volcanic region around Kintamani. The best time to visit (the high season) is May through to September. The humidity is much lower at this time, although there is still the chance of rain. However, it is much more likely to be an hour-long downpour, rather than all-day drizzle.
