More good news arrived today the French Government releasing a statement confirming that international travel would restart this week, in accordance to terms that vary depending on the health situation in different countries and the vaccination of travellers. Like the UK, France have implemented a traffic light system for all those visiting the country, with different rules and regulations applying to each tier. To be considered, all must be vaccinated with a completed full dose of one of the European Medical Agency (EMA) approved vaccines: Pfizer BioNtech, Moderna, Astra Zeneca/Oxford, and Johnson + Johnson/Janssen.
On the green list are European Union and Schengen Area countries as well as Australia, South Korea, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, New Zealand and Singapore. Green list travellers who’ve been vaccinated don’t need to undergo any Covid testing or quarantine, while non-vaccinated travellers should present a negative Covid-19 test, taken within 72 hours of departure for a PCR test or 48 hours of departure for an antigen test.
Meanwhile, vaccinated tourists from orange list destinations, which covers the majority of the world and the GCC (exception of Bahrain), are required to present a negative Covid-19 test, taken within 72 hours of departure for a PCR test or 48 hours of departure for an antigen test, but don’t need to quarantine on arrival. Non-vaccinated tourists from orange list countries must have a compelling reason to be travelling to France, should provide either a PCR or antigen test within the time frames detailed above, and are additionally required to self-isolate for 7 days on arrival.
