  • Staying at Le Refuge de Solaise offers a total disconnection to your daily life.
  • When nature permits, at nightfall a starry sky of remarkable purity dominates the landscapes of snow and ice. Worth taking your SLR to try and capture it.
  • Set under a splendid exposed roof structure, with its view across to the more intimate mountains, the new Refuge bar will welcome skiers at breakfast, then at lunchtime with cheese and charcuterie boards and desserts, snacks by the fire and finally in the evening for a perched aperitif.
  • Le Refuge de Solaise is cut off from the real world once the Solaise Gondola shuts for the night, offering an intense seclusion and peace far above the village
  • Guests can wake up early and take advantage of skiing down the slopes before anyone else has arrived, through fresh powder and virgin snow
  • Ease weary post-ski muscles in the superb spa or the 25-metre pool before curling up in front of the fire with a book from the library and an aperitif
  • The design is alpine-chic, with a rustic yet elegant decor throughout the property.
  • Accommodation:
The hotel has 16 rooms, divided into 5 categories, which can accommodate between 1 and 5 guests. Some provide a view over the village and valley, others peak out over the mountains. Antique woodwork, carefully combined fabrics and references to traditional Alpine heritage immerse guests in a decor and comfort that is rare at this altitude.
  • Location:
Le refuge de Solaise is located at 2551m altitude on the top of Solaise Telecabine
  • Getting there:
If you arrive in Val d’Isère by car (private or taxi), a porter will meet you at the top of Rue Parc des Sports, at the entrance to the Front de Neige, where the hotel has a sign “Point de rencontre Le Refuge”. The luggage handler will take your large luggage to the gondola where you will have to pick it up to go up to the arrival station. He will give you your ski-passes needed to board the gondolas.
To find your way when you arrive in the centre of the resort, there are 2 important gondolas which leave from the snow front, these are the black gondolas which go up to the left dome.
The gondolas only run at certain times so it is important to note that outside of these hours, you will not be able to access the Refuge and they will help you find accommodation for your first night in the resort, which will remain at your expense.
A luggage handler will be waiting for you at the top, in the arrival station of the gondola, with a tracked vehicle and a trailer to collect your luggage. 5 passenger places are available. Other passengers will have to wait for the next rotation or walk 200m downhill in the snow to reach the Refuge de Solaise.
In case of bad weather, it is possible to wait in the warmth of the Lounge of the gondola arrival station..
  • What to pack:
Warm clothes as well as your skiing gear, don’t forget gloves, hats and cosy sleepwear. The restaurants at the resort aren’t overly formal but we recommend dressing chic, you are in France after all!
  • Restaurants:
Le Refuge de Solaise has two restaurant concepts, Restaurant GIGI which features traditional cuisine, homemade from fresh and mainly local and seasonal products, Gigi is not a person, it is a fantasy, an air of extravaganza, which invites you to celebrate the art of living and Le Petit Refuge which has a variety including authentic Italian gastronomy based on sharing of dishes and Chilean flavours.
  • Spa:
The Refuge Exertier Spa has a 25-metre swimming pool and 2 jacuzzis from which you can admire the valley and the snowy peaks. It also offers 2 hammams, an outdoor sauna, 4 treatment rooms including a couples room as well as yoga classes.
  • Signature Activities:
The Spa du Refuge offers a unique wellness experience in the Alps by combining physical, mental and emotional well-being in partnership with Yog’nVibes. An innovative concept combining the fundamentals of yoga (postures, breathing and meditation) with the power of musical vibrations for a guaranteed release of tension and a euphoric atmosphere.
